What problem are you trying to solve?

Have you looked at existing apps on the market that answer exactly that? If so, it would be helpful to know what you think is missing.

Otherwise, are people in this challenge just going to be reproducing less polished, unfinished projects that already exist somewhere else?

Thanks,
Marine

    Hi guys, good question Marine.

    I launched my product 8 months ago now to fill a gal that I think is not being taken advantage of. I began by researching the app stores and downloading and testing. So I would wholeheartedly agree that anyone thinking of attempting this challenge, that they do the same.

    @MrTom

    We have to be careful you are right. But this is an open web challenge... and a hack. There is no use in ignoring the products already out there on the market, and the fact that they are allowed to submit should not put the best ideas from being put forward still. In fact... This raises the game right? When I entered, I WANTED everyone to enter. So we can discover more happiness apps, and understand what we are doing right and wrong. Also this competition gives us all a chance to get behind an app which really rings our bells... but suffers form a poor profile in contrast to some of the apps which have seen millions invested in them. It's all fair. These organisers know what they are doing - just look at the list of judges ;)

    Great question, let's keep these kinds of conversations going. Cheers.

    Just to add, I have taken a look at a few apps which intrigue me as a result of this comp. Lantern drew my eye. A blatantly cool idea... A team of therapists in your pocket. Awesome. But... I tried it and got bored answering the magnitude of questions I was confronted with. Also... I don't live in the US, LOL. Right, so most people I know would get bored giving them the details. But they need those details in their app... so... build an app that learns that stuff in easier bite sized chunks? This is why I love apps. We can all see where we others go wrong... a little bit harder to realise that when we build one ourselves.

    Sorry... A bit off topic.
