Analysis of Winners

Browsing through the gallery, I saw lots of great submissions for this challenge. What do you guys think made the winners stand out in particular?

I did notice all three of the winners chosen by judges (vs crowd voting) are currently iPhone only, but maybe that is a coincidence.
